Pray or Pout. The Pitch Fork Revolution versus Reality

DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE MY VIEWS AND OPINIONS.   I AM NOT A SELF PROFESSED KNOW IT ALL. CONSTRUCTIVE/FACTUAL COMMENTS ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED, BUT LASHING OUT OR RELENTLESS VENTING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED FOR OR AGAINST MY VIEWS.

With that being said I will jump right into the subject.

On the heels of President Barack Obama's statement, and after absorbing the Facebook/Twitter wars, I had to somehow add my 2 cents.

The president stated and I quote "I've been going through an evolution on this issue. I've always been adamant that gay and lesbian Americans should be treated fairly and equally," Mr. Obama said in a television interview with ABC. "At a certain point I've just concluded that, for me personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married." - Wall Street Journal.

Firstly, let me say in regards to marriage, I am not for the legalization of same sex marriage. I do not believe in undoing what God has established. On the other hand I also do not partake in "selective witch hunts".

Obama's Views: Since this interview I have noticed a slew of comments denouncing President Obama as president currently and future wise. Wow is all I can say!  When we voted for him 4 years ago, were we not aware that this could be possible? Is he not a Democrat, a.k.a someone who believes in political and social equality for all? Let's be realistic here! He is the President of the United States of America not of  the First Baptist Union of Pentecostal Apostolics Movement in Cathocalism and Angelics....Church. He is here to serve the purpose of the people of this country. Oh yes, the Great Democratic country that allows us (to date, can't speak for tomorrow) to worship and practice our spiritual beliefs in peace. Are we somehow shocked because he has become somewhat of a sacred sacrifical lamb that we have come to worship...I mean love. Obama is also human and has never professed to be a true believer, born again follower of God or His principles. So I am sorry to burst some bubbles, but that was a fact in 2008, as it is still a reality today. It's politics not personal.

The Opposition: Mitt Romney a Mormon. Check the stats or will he somehow now become the Golden Calf for the sanctified?

The Church:  I remember about 10 to 15 years ago unwedded pregnancy was the sin of the century (I had my fair share of ridicule in that area).  As time progressed, divorce took its place and seemed to have taken on legs. Both unwedded pregnancy and divorce are now watered down to mere offences with acceptable curves in the rules.  Here we are today, and it seems homosexuality has taken the front row, literally and figuratively. SIN is as old as creation and these issues have been around from biblical ages, but we live in an era where Christians seem to switch the subject of sin around to suit their opinions. When fitting, we sit behind our computer screens a.k.a the "pitch fork" and witch hunt homosexuals. Homosexulatity like adultery, pedophlia, lying, backstabbing, and a host of endless things all ride the same boat. So at the end of the day I write this to ask:  Are we mad because this is the "Issue of the Era"? Or are we finally fed up with everything that seems to be against God's principles and are finally ready to take on these issues, starting with what goes on and  gets slid under the rug in our own churches? Are we ready to pray for wisdom on how to deal? Or pout and rant, then turn the other way when we sit next to the same subject at hand and many more on any given Sunday?

Just Curious.....
